Ruckify

New year who dis? It’s that time of year for New Year’s resolutions, and ours is to choose more sustainable options.

We recently learned about Ruckify, a rent anything marketplace. Ruckify encourages sustainability by providing people with the means to reuse items within their communities. The app was founded by Steve Cody, after he needed a piece of equipment, but only for a short period of time. He felt purchasing one would be unnecessary and wasteful. The idea for an app to share assets on a short-term basis was born! It’s simple: renting instead of buying reduces your carbon footprint and posting instead of throwing away puts less waste in our landfill.

We’ve rented from Ruckify a couple times now for both date night ideas and social distanced gatherings. Our first rental was an outdoor movie night. We rented a popcorn machine, video projector, and an outdoor screen. The popcorn machine legit made buttery movie theater popcorn, and we were in heaven. This was a nice change of pace from our usual date nights, and made us feel like we weren’t even at home!

The next rental was for a social distanced gathering. We rented an outdoor heater - like the ones you see on patios at restaurants! We placed a couple tables (something you can also rent) a safe distance around the heater and enjoyed some drinks together. This was so special, as it allowed our family to gather safely outdoors in cold weather.

Maybe your New Year’s Resolution is to make extra cash? Not only is renting from Ruckify a sustainable option, but it can also be a fantastic way to make money. Have snowshoes you hardly use? Maybe a fire pit collecting dust? This is a great opportunity for a new side hustle.

If we haven’t convinced you yet, here is one of our favorite parts: Ruckify plants a tree for every signup, which is free! Sign up here & use code “mountainsandmimosas” for $35 off your first rental!

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? We’d love to hear them below!
