Boutique Retail Therapy

We've been doing a lot of shopping lately... here are our favorite boutiques in Boulder and surrounding areas.  Maybe wait until you get your next paycheck to read this one!

Due South

This boutique in Lafayette became a favorite of ours the second we stopped in. From stylish clothing to vintage furniture, we could seriously spend hours here. Their clothing is seriously adorable - think vintage, boho, and casual styles. They also sell jewelry and other accessories, a lot of which are from local artists. An entire section of the store is devoted to Annie Sloan paint and refurbished furniture. They even teach classes for repurposing furniture! Do yourself a favor and stop in. Whether you’re looking for a gift, an outfit for an occasion, or home decor, there really is something for everyone!

Why we love it: I mean, just look at that dress!

Bliss

Bliss is a gift and home accent store that has graced Pearl Street in Boulder for 13 solid years.  The owner focuses on finding unique, embellished, and playful items, mostly from local artisans (LOVE!). They also feature a few vintage items throughout the store like cool pieces of furniture and this wine caddy.  Also, right now, they have an awesome vintage sewing machine! We love the variety of options, from fashion purses, to dinner ware, and even to baby clothes/accessories!  Each display is so adorable, it's easy to spend time looking at each one with all of the quirky items. Warning: Everything is so cute you may spend several hours deciding what you want to buy!

Why we love it: We could see ourselves buying almost everything in the store! Plus it's an awesome place to find gifts- there's a little something for everyone.

Weekends

We absolutely love this Boulder staple! Weekends has been locally owned and run since 1990 and it's definitely thriving in it's Pearl Street location.  They have the cutest clothes, jewelry and accessories for any occasion (seriously though, we want it all!). Now, we'll be totally transparent and say that most of the items are on the pricier side, but they are such high quality pieces that we think it's totally worth it to splurge every once in a while!  Also, keep an eye out for their sales-- last year we shopped during the CU Parent's weekend and purchased this amazing white jump suit!

Why we love it: High quality items from unique brands that you won't find anywhere else in Boulder.

Common Threads

Common Threads is a little boutique on Spruce Street towards 28th, kind of tucked away between the neighborhoods and other retail stores.  This boutique is has both new and used items, which makes it somewhat of a consignment store.  They had tons of designer jeans, purses, shoes and clothing.  Everything we looked at was reasonably priced and they had an adorable set up with wooden changing rooms so that you can try before you buy! If you're tired of Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads, be sure to check out Common Threads.

Why we love it: It's fun to go in and see what new items they have, especially because designer items are hard to come by not at full price!
